Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This policy explains what information I collect when you visit jeffwiedner.com, buy a print or book, sign up for my newsletter, or contact me — and what I do with it. I'm a one-person studio in Houston, Texas, so in practice that means very little, handled carefully. I don’t like spam either.
What I collect
When you buy something: your name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, and the details of your order. Payment card information is entered directly with my payment processor; I never see or store your full card number.
When you join my newsletter: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it.
When you contact me: whatever you include in your message.
When you browse the site: standard technical information that browsers send automatically, such as browser type, device, language, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. I use this in aggregate to understand which pages people find and read.
How I use it
To fulfill and ship your order, send receipts and shipping updates, and handle returns or questions.
To keep a record of who owns each numbered edition, so I can issue certificates of authenticity and verify provenance later.
To send my newsletter, only if you've signed up. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
To reply when you write to me.
To keep business and tax records as the law requires.
To understand how the site is used and improve it.
Who I share it with
I don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I don't share it for advertising. I share it only with the services that make the shop run, and only what each one needs:
Website and store hosting: Squarespace
Payment processing: [Stripe, PayPal, Square]
Shipping: [USPS, UPS], which receive your name and shipping address
Newsletter: [Squarespace Email Campaigns]
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your information. I may also disclose information if required by law, or if needed to prevent fraud or protect my rights or the rights of others.
Cookies
Like most websites, this site uses cookies — small files stored by your browser — to keep your shopping cart working, remember preferences, and measure site traffic through Squarespace's built-in analytics. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though the cart and checkout may not work properly without them.
How long I keep it
I keep order and edition records for up to seven years to meet tax and record-keeping obligations and to maintain provenance for editioned work. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Messages are kept only as long as they're useful for answering you.
Security
All pages on this site are served over an encrypted connection, payments are handled by established payment processors, and I limit access to your information to what's needed to run the studio. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me to:
Tell you what personal information I have about you, and give you a copy.
Correct anything that's wrong.
Delete your information, except records I'm legally required to keep.
Stop sending you marketing email (or use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter).
Depending on where you live — including the EU, UK, and several U.S. states — you may have additional legal rights over your data, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To make any request, email me at the address below. I'll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given me personal information, contact me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
